DEPARTMENT: Recreation
HOURS OF WORK: 15-18 hours per week. Hours will depend on availability but must be weekdays between 8:00am-3:00pm
SALARY: $24/hour

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Recreation Office Administrator is responsible for clerical work within the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to all general emails, phone calls, and in-person inquiries.
  • Collect drop-in fees.
  • Set up and break down equipment in the Rec Center during their shift.
  • Supervise activities in the gym.
  • Create and track all Purchase Orders and pay all Recreation invoices.
  • Collect timesheets and prepare payroll for Assistant Recreation Director.
  • Track refunds and household credits.
  • Perform opening and safety checklist.
  • Review facility schedules for conflicts.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED.

Beneficial:
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & LICENSES:
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to create spreadsheets and create basic formulas in Excel. Able to scan and save documents to a shared drive.
  • Excellent organization and record keeping skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Effective and independent worker.
  • Able to understand and prioritize tasks.
  • Capable of operating a personal computer system using up-to-date software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:
Performs administrative work in an office environment. Sits or stands, with intermittent periods of stooping and walking. May be required to move objects such as files, boxes of papers, office supplies, and office equipment weighing up to 30 lbs. Applies motor skills to move objects, file, and sort documents, and use office equipment such as telephones and computers. Routinely reads documents for general understanding and analytical purposes, including handwriting, forms, and reviews detailed information displayed on a computer screen.
