BASIC FUNCTION:
The Recreation Office Manager is responsible for a variety of clerical work within the department.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to all general emails, phone calls, and in-person inquiries.
  • Collect drop-in fees.
  • Collect unpaid balances.
  • Supervise activities in the gym. 
  • Keep up-to-date binders including employee certifications and certificate of insurance.
  • Deposit money in the Treasury Department.
  • Assist Recreation Director with scheduling field permits. 
  • Responds to the general questions including emails, phone calls, and in-person visits.
  • Review Facility Schedules for conflicts.
  • Supervise, set up and break down equipment in the gym.
  • Works under the direct supervision of Recreation Director. 
  • Performs other related duties by the Department head, Mayor or designee.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 
Any equivalent combination of the below-listed education, training, certification, and experience is qualifying.
  • High School diploma or GED. 

Beneficial:
  • Associate degree or equivalent education.

KNOWLEDGE SKILL & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. 
  • Ability to create spreadsheets. Able to scan and save documents to a shared drive. 
  • Excellent organization and record keeping skills.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.  Ability to work effectively and independently. Ability to understand and prioritize tasks. Capable of operating a personal computer system using up-to-date software.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONShe physical and environmental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. 
Performs administrative work in an office environment. Sits or stands, with intermittent periods of stooping and walking. May be required to move objects such as files, boxes of paper, office supplies, and office equipment weighing up to 30 lbs. Applies motor skills to move objects, file, and sort documents, and use office equipment such as telephones, and computers. Routinely reads documents for general understanding and analytical purposes, including handwriting, forms, and reviews detailed information displayed on a computer screen.
